Unblock and Flow
from 1st to 3rd Person
Have you ever been in the midst of an important project and
found yourself blocked? You just couldn't muster the energy or
find the creative juice to complete it. Whether it is something
creative like writing an article or something you want to
accomplish like building a bookcase, there are times when the
task ahead seems Herculean.
No one likes feeling blocked but it happens. You are pushing
yourself but it feels like walking through molasses. At times
like these, try listening to what your inner voice is saying. My
inner voice is often says something like "if you don't get this
right and get it done soon, you are going to look bad or
embarrass yourself."
If your inner voice is worried about how you will look to
others, it may be that your ego is too strongly involved - a
sure prescription for a muddy outcome or no progress at all.
The best way to return to the ease of moving forward is to shift
your perspective from first person to third person. Rather than
focus on how to save face or look good to others - the ego's
focus - shift your thoughts to what purpose the project serves.
Perhaps it isn't necessary to do something perfectly, but good
enough to serve its purpose.
The second Solar Eclipse of the year is coming Sept 11 (yes,
9/11) at 19 Virgo. Virgo represents the urge toward purification
and perfect function, but in the process Virgo's can be highly
self-critical which can then produce "a paralysis of analysis."
On the other hand, Virgo also represents the urge to serve, to
work in practical ways to heal the problems that they discern
with people, animals and the environment.
Looking out at our society and government, clearly we need more
Virgoan attention right now. Fortunately, Sept 2 Saturn moves
from Leo to Virgo where it will be for the next two and a half
years.
All the Leos out there will be delighted since Saturn has been
quite burdensome, taking them away from play and forcing them to
face their responsibilities. Next Leos will get lessons in being
more responsible with their money, but that's another story.
What September promises is more awareness of what needs fixing.
If as you develop your plans and start to implement them, you
find yourself procrastinating or feeling blocked - remember to
listen to your inner voice. Is it critical? Is it worried about
how you will look or if you'll be embarrassed? Simply move from
first person to third person by remembering what purpose the
project serves and get your ego out of the way. So much more can
be accomplished.

Astrological Events
NOTE:
Following are
general comments on the energies of each day. Your personal
experience may be strongly modified by the relationship of these
transits to your individual natal chart. To understand the
significance of your personal experience, consult a professional
astrologer.
Sunday, Aug 12, 7:02 pm ET - NEW MOON at 20 Leo
This particular New Moon with 5 planets in Leo puts a focus on
individual creation and self-expression. What is your heart
calling you to do or be? A retrograde Venus near Saturn assists
your answer by asking you to examine your priorities and clarify
your values. Opposing all those Leo planets, Neptune requires you
to sort fact from fiction in order to reach your goals. Don't fall
prey to illusions, but don't leave behind your doable dreams.
If you wish
upon the New Moon (within 3 days before or after), you have the
possibility of fulfillment by the time of the Full Moon. Leo
New Moon wishes relate to: love and romance, creativity,
generosity, celebration & play/fun, dignity, determination, and
tempering arrogance.
Monday, Aug 13 - Venus retrograde joins Saturn in Leo, Sun in Leo
opposes Neptune retrograde in Aquarius
There is a
push-pull happening between idealized relationships (Sun-Neptune)
and everyday relationships which may measure up short. If you work
on bridging the differences between you and others, real healing
can take place.
Friday, Aug 17 - Sun and Mercury conjoins Venus retrograde in Leo
A wonderful
night for fun and indulgence! A good venue, some good food &
drink, and your beloved beside you warm your heart and easily lead
to overdoing. Remember tomorrow will come.
Saturday, Aug 18 - Mercury conjoins Saturn in Leo
Despite the
glow of last night's fun, serious discussions are likely to arise
today. Rather than go into drama expressing your concerns or take
the route of avoidance, a better use of this energy is in
open-hearted conversation that is focused on solutions.
Tuesday, Aug 21 - Sun conjoins Saturn in Leo
A serious tone
hangs over the day. Are you getting a serious dose of reality? If
so, use it constructively to craft plans that have a lasting
result. Maintaining self-respect is important.
Thursday, Aug 23 thru Saturday, Aug 25 - Mars in Gemini opposes
Jupiter in Sagittarius, while Mercury in Virgo squares them both
This high
energy alignment can provide plenty of enthusiasm and drive.
Containing and directing it is the challenge. Ideas may fly but
will they be put in motion? If you can harness these passionate
energies, you could move mountains for yourself, so don't waste it
fighting someone or something.
Tuesday, Aug 28, 6:35 am ET - FULL MOON/LUNAR ECLIPSE at 5
Pisces
This total lunar eclipse, just as all eclipses, is a repeat of one
that happened at the same degree on August 27, 1988. What was
important to you then may be calling you now. Focus and faith
along with service versus servitude seem to be the themes. Think
outside the box as there are transformative energies for the next
week encouraging you to let go of what is past and begin anew in
some aspect of your life. It is most visible on the West Coast of
the US, but to some degree all over the US.
Sunday, Sept 2 - Saturn enters Virgo
Saturn moves from personality-focused Leo into efficiency-driven
Virgo. Practicality and precision will be our measure. Our
attention will be on work, service and skill development as well
as healthcare and the environment - two top issues of social
concern. Saturn puts a laser focus on what isn't working and seeks
to build new structures. Those with Virgo prominent (Sun, Moon, or
Ascendant) will have to face reality and make mature decisions
while Saturn is in Virgo for the next two and a half years.
Monday, Sept 3 (US Labor Day) - Mars in Gemini squares
Uranus retrograde in Pisces, Sun in Virgo squares Jupiter in
Sagittarius
Whenever Mars and Uranus explosively challenge each other, you are
likely be impulsive and uncooperative as well as inventive. It may
be difficult to follow the rules, but remember there may be
consequences.
Friday, Sept 7 - Pluto goes direct in Sagittarius
With an about-face Pluto now makes its run toward Capricorn which
it will enter Jan 25, 2008. Hopefully, in the past few months
Pluto has made you aware of the beliefs you have allowed to block
your progress and now you are ready to move forward.
Saturday, Sept 8 - Venus goes direct in Leo
Since July 27 Venus retrograde has urged us to reflect on our
values, perhaps consideration of our health, and the importance of
following our heart. Our true desires should be clearer now so it
is time to set forth and manifest them.
Sunday, Sept 9 - Sun in Virgo opposed Uranus in Pisces
Others may be acting strangely or out of character. Change is in
the air. Don't hold on to your plans, but allow spontaneity and
invention to create an exciting day. Go with the flow.
Tuesday, Sept 11 - NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE Advance Alert
Though I will say more in the next newsletter, you should know
that important solar eclipse will occur at 19 Virgo repeating the
same degree as the eclipse on September 10, 1988. Something
important from that time is ending or moving to the next level.
The themes are becoming aware the beliefs that block our progress
and reassessing if our lives reflect our values and follow our
heart as we move forward intuitively. Time to let go of
self-doubt.

Astro Mini-Lesson
Aspects: The SQUARE
The SQUARE: Time to change and grow
When two planets are square to each other, they have very different
goals. Friction and tension arise as obstacles appear. It may seem
like there is no way out at first. However, squares call us to face
the issues and grow in the process. Try to avoid the issues and they
will surely reappear. Face them and tremendous energy is released.
A SQUARE unites two signs of the same Mode (Cardinal, Fixed or
Mutable - more on this in future issues), different Gender
(masculine or feminine), and different Elements (Air, Fire, Earth
or Water).
With squares, the conflict can be difficult to understand. Trying to
avoid or repress it just increases the duration of the suffering,
like a marriage that wasn't working after 5 years but they hung on
for a dozen more. Harmony can only come from going with the changes
that the conflict suggests can relieve the tension. Unfortunately,
some times the only way to deal with a square is to accept the
limitations it represents.
You'll find a SQUARE angle between two planets when they are 90
degrees apart (a quarter of the circle). Two planets are said to be
square to each other when they are within about 82 to 98 degrees of
each other. May your growth come as easy as possible! |
