Welcome to the new look of the New Moon newsletter!

There's More to The Secret
3 Important Principles

The movie (also a book) called The Secret has been getting lots of publicity lately. Perhaps you learned about in on Oprah or from Larry King. Everywhere I turn someone is talking about it. I confess I am amazed yet pleased at its popularity. Obviously, it is an idea whose time has come as Pluto finishes its passage through Sagittarius, the sign of goals and aspirations. Yes, the knowledge (and use) of the law of attraction is a powerful asset for creating the life of your dreams, but is it that simple and does it always work?

There are 3 principles I think are vitally important to understanding the law of attraction. Without these understandings, you could become discouraged and disillusioned and revert to negative thinking.

1 - You've got to love this moment with appreciation and gratitude.

Sure, it is wonderful to design an ideal life which includes the best job, house, car, relationship, etc., but the law of attraction won't work if you are and trying to run away from the moment by dreaming of a better life in the future. Your thoughts of misery will only bring you more misery. You have to find and appreciate what is good in the present moment. That is where the power to create a better next moment is found. Out of gratitude more will be given. Read anything by Eckhart Tolle or Byron Katie for more on this.

I learned this while working in a corporate job that I hated. I sent out dozens of resumes, got one interview, and realized that job would have been worse than the one I was in. After spinning my wheels, I relaxed and decided to stay where I was until the urge to leave my unhappiness was transformed into the urge to go toward what I truly desired. At that point I hadn't a clue of what I wanted. I had only wanted to run away from where I was.

2 - You've got to put your desires into action

It isn't enough to dream dreams and hope to have them land in your lap. If you really believe in your dreams, you must take the steps needed to manifest them. Often, it starts with the power of the words you speak and then you back up the words with action. This is different from trying to make things happen which is born out of an attempt to control and manipulate an outcome. It is more like doing your part in creating the environment from which your desires can appear.

For example, currently I have the desire to write a book. I have been talking about it for several months, but I don't even have a working title. It is more or less a vague desire urged from within. I recently created a Blog so I would be encouraged to write more often than once a month for this newsletter. However, I often go a week or 10 days before writing in the blog. Just yesterday I finally decided I must take action to create the environment out of which a book could arise by setting aside two hours a day to do nothing but write. If I want the inspiration to come for writing the book, I need to take the action of setting aside time for the words to appear.

3 - We do not have ultimate control of the outcome and timing is not in our hands

This truth has been proven to me time and again as an astrologer. I can see in a client's chart whether or not the year ahead holds possibilities for manifesting a particular desire. All of life has cycles, like breathing in and breathing out. Just because you desire something does not mean you are currently in a cycle of acquiring. You might be in a cycle of letting go. The law of attraction is about "co-creating" with the Universe or God. From a higher wisdom, what we desire may not yet be right for us. We must sometimes hold the vision and keep the environment open for the manifestation of our dreams for a period of time before the time is right.

There was a time when I had a vision and strong yearning for a supportive partner, but it took along time and didn't happen as quickly as I hoped. However, the timing of Chuck Adams entering my life was perfect. We both acknowledge that we were not really ready to appreciate the gift of each other one moment before we found each other. I had to kiss a few frogs first, as they say.

We create our life one thought, one moment at a time. Don't let your expectations of mansions and Mercedes leave you frustrated and disillusioned. You can find a love-filled, abundant and fulfilling life by living in harmony with the present moment (loving what is), acting to create an environment from which you can grow, and acknowledging that timing will always be influenced by cycles of receiving and letting go. I call it the "Divine Dance of Life."

NOTE: Following are general comments on the energies of each day. Your personal experience may be strongly modified by the relationship of these transits to your individual natal chart. To understand the significance of your personal experience, consult a professional astrologer.

Sunday, Mar 18, 10:43 pm ET - NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE at 29 Pisces square Pluto in Sagittarius

As I wrote last month, "This is a very powerful eclipse! Happening on the next-to-the-last degree of the zodiac, we may be compelled inward to make important and overdue changes. Pluto squares the eclipse point ensuring irrevocable and profound growth, particularly if it hits your natal chart directly as it does mine. It is also connected to the mass movements and changes in society so we'll see what that may mean for humanity."

As of this writing (3/16), Attorney General Gonzales is taking heat for the politically-based firing of 8 U.S. Attorneys and White House strategist Karl Rove is implicated. Pakistani President Musharaf's firing of that nation's Chief Justice has prompted anti-government rioting and Pakistani police have raided a TV station that was broadcasting the Chief Justice's disciplinary hearing. You could say the Saturn in Leo opposed to Neptune in Aquarius that is still in close aspect is bringing out the dark side of powerful leaders.

With Uranus conjunct the South Node, there's need to be freed from past illusions and move toward a more inclusive definition of our well being. Where might your parochial interests be linked to past self-serving behaviors that now need to be expressed more holistically.

If you wish upon the New Moon (within 3 days before or after), you have the possibility of fulfillment by the time of the Full Moon. Pisces New Moon wishes relate to: imagination, inner happiness, psychic sensitivity, trust/mystic awareness, spiritual healing, compassion, and releasing helplessness.

Monday, Mar 19 - Sun in Pisces squares Pluto in Sagittarius

As a further reverberation of the Solar Eclipse, Pluto asking us to uncover the truth of our motivations which we'd like to believe are compassionate and kind, but often are an expression of an unrealistic "good guy" self image masking our poor self-esteem. Power comes from being motivated by the deeper values that tie us to all humanity and acting from that place of inclusiveness.

Thursday, Mar 22 - Mars in Aquarius opposes Saturn in Leo

This tug-of-war aspect pits the desire to act for the benefit of others with the caution to look after one's own interests. There's no need to polarize. Instead, find the win-win approach that serves yourself and others.

Sunday, Mar 25 - Mars conjoins Neptune in Aquarius

Although the practical experience of this alignment may leave you lethargic and low energy today, what may be calling you is time to meditate, walk in nature, or help a friend. Some days are not meant for high productivity and this is one of them.

Saturday, Mar 31 - Pluto goes retrograde in Sagittarius

As Pluto reverses it is an ideal time to let go of something that no longer serves your highest good. For the next five months, you get to internalize and review the power of your beliefs to create you life. It is a good cycle to review what your current beliefs have brought you (hint: look at your life). By the time Pluto goes direct on Sept 7, you could ride its forward momentum on new beliefs about what is possible before it leaves Sagittarius in early January 2008.

Sunday, Apr 1 - Mercury conjoins Uranus in Pisces

April Fool's Day this year offers great inspiration and innovation of ideas. It may be quirking new pranks that arise. Better yet, use this highly creative mental ferment to find solutions to tenacious problems or design out-of-the box new projects.

Monday, Apr 2, 1:15 pm ET - FULL MOON at 13 Aries/Libra and Venus in Taurus squares Saturn in Leo

At the Full Moon, with the Sun and Moon in opposition, we always feel a tension between our feeling nature and the rational mind. This one involves the relationship polarity between Aries (self) and Libra (others), causing us to pay attention to the balance in our relationships. Saturn in Leo is exactly squaring a powerful Venus in Taurus at the same time as Chiron in Aquarius is approaching an opposition - a relationship tension, indeed! Before you react, before you find fault in others, Venus in Taurus suggests you might need to notice what you value in the relationship and how it serves you. Is there someway to communicate your feelings that still value the other's point-of-view while asking consideration for your own needs?

Wednesday, Apr 4 - Mercury in Pisces squares Jupiter in Sagittarius, Venus in Taurus squares Neptune in Aquarius, and Mars in Aquarius sextiles Pluto in Sagittarius

Lots of energies are swirling around today. Perhaps passionate, idealistic conversations will challenge your illusion that others agree with you. It would be a good day to immerse yourself in a creative project where you can express and see an outcome.

Thursday, Apr 5 - Jupiter goes retrograde in Sagittarius

When Jupiter goes retrograde, we are asked to fall back on our own resources and be more fugal. We all felt a burst of optimism when Jupiter entered Sagittarius in late November, but now is the time to relax our expectations and put our life on firmer foundation as we solidify our growth. It may be as simple as bringing your expectations down to reality for the next few months.

Tuesday, Apr 10 - Mercury in Pisces squares Pluto in Sagittarius

Today you may be subject to obsessive thinking or pushing your views on others, particularly in the area of strongly healed beliefs. If you can remember that your view is right for you but others may have formed beliefs based on other life experiences, you may enjoy an in-depth and interesting conversation.
