Life is a Matter of Timing

As much as I wish it were different, I have come to realize that life is a matter of timing.

Have you ever had a desire that you hoped would manifest immediately? As you wish, hope and worry, nothing happens. As you wait for something to change, you begin to think that you were crazy to think you could ever get your wish fulfilled.

I must not be worth of it, you may think. Disappointed you make the decision that it was never meant to be and give up, defeated by your inability to make it happen as soon as you hoped.

What I am describing has happened to me. I was unhappy in my job and decided I wanted to seek a new position. I invested energy in cleaning up and enhancing my resume. I researched all the openings in my area of interest and sent out dozens of resumes.

Nothing happened. Weeks later I received a call to come in for an interview. The opening sounded interesting until I sat face-to-face with the person who would be my supervisor. Sadly, I had to decline the offer, while I wanted desperately to leave my current employer, clearly this was not a step forward, but a step backward.

This went on for quite a while until I gave up hope. I began to notice what I DID like about where I worked. You might say I surrendered to what was my current reality.

But the story doesn’t end there. In retrospect, I am able to see that the timing was not right for me to take the next step in my life when I thought I wanted to. I was looking for another job, but the Universe had other plans.

My next step, it turned out, was to be self-employed as an astrological consultant. My entrepreneurial abilities and confidence needed to be built first, before the grand opportunity to take my next step was possible.

This whole experience has helped me to see that “right timing” is essential to success. Would it surprise you to know it took me seven years to complete the manifestation of my dreamed of a new direction?

Seven years represents one-quarter of a Saturn cycle. Saturn is the planet that rules time. For me there was work to be done to lay the foundation for the next step. Had I avoided the learning and preparation, I would not be as successful and satisfied as I am now doing my passion as an astrologer.

Astrology is actually an excellent indicator of “right timing.” A reading can quite accurately reveal the cycles you are in now and the timing of when they will end or a new cycle will begin.

So if you are feeling frustrated by a desire that you just can’t seem to manifest, it may just be that you are not yet at the point of optimal timing. Don’t lose heart, fulfillment and satisfaction may yet be ahead.
